It Don't Take All That
Girl! You been out here caring about EVERYTHING. Family, work, church⌠and letâs not forget that man. Yeah, himâthe one who ainât changed and clearly ainât planning to. Chile, bye.
The Prize Nobody Asked For
And the gag is⌠you cared so much, for so long, about so many thingsâand your big reward? Feeling numb. Congratulations, sis. Thatâs it. Thatâs the prize. đ
Youâve been waking up uncertain, confused, stuck. Like youâre trapped in a personal hell where the walls keep closing inâbut you canât point to one thing causing it (or maybe you can).
Time to Re-Evaluate
The only way out of that stuck place is to re-evaluate what you care about and how much energy youâre giving it. Because letâs be honestâyour current formula? Itâs not working for you.
Black women, weâve fought hard. We fight for people, for things, for places⌠that donât always fight for us back.
And somehow, we trick ourselves into thinking the real reward is impactâthat our sacrifice automatically equals change. And of course, we usually assume that change means something positive. Silly us.
Now here we are, overly stimulated by other peopleâs foolishnessâfighting battles that were never ours to win.
When The Math Ain't Mathing
The math ainât mathing. If people, places, things, and systems donât desire to change for the good, then no matter how hard you hustle, youâll keep finding yourself outmanned, out-resourced, and out of your mind.
Nuturing Your Energy is Wisdom
So in this climateâthis job market, this economy, this constant state of chaosâitâs time to rethink the math. Where are you placing your energy? And at what percentage?
Because letâs be clear: not everything deserves 100% of you.
Pulling back your energy is not quittingâitâs wisdom. Itâs how you proactively spot the sinking ship instead of always going down with it.
